About Mark
Speedy high school sprint champion Mark McMillian was a two-year starter at Glendale JR College in California, where he earned All-American honors. His standout performance gained him a scholarship to play for the University of Alabama under renowned coach Gene Stallings. To this day, McMillian holds the Alabama record for the longest interception TD in school history. Mark was drafted into the NFL by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 10th round, where, as a rookie, he earned recognition by being named to the prestigious All-Madden Team. After a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints, McMillian went on to have some of his most celebrated success as a cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs under coach Marty Schottenheimer.
In 1997, the 5-foot-7-inch McMillian earned the nickname “Mighty Mouse” from his teammates and fans after an impressive season with 8 interceptions (tied for the NFL lead) and 3 defensive TDs, including an 87-yard return. He also set a Chiefs franchise record for most return yards (274). Mighty Mac finished his 8-year NFL career with the Washington Redskins alongside Hall of Famers Darrell Green and Champ Bailey.
Beyond football, McMillian showcased his talents in the culinary world, gaining national attention as a celebrity contestant on Gordon Ramsay’s hit Fox Show Season 2 of Next Level Chef, where his passion and skill in the kitchen were on full display. He now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, and works with various programs dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults.
